Skyline’s efficient streaming technology can deliver to a wide range of platforms including desktops, wireless handheld devices, and in-vehicle systems. And the technology can be streamed over most networks including secure intranets, private extranets and the Internet.
With open architecture and a powerful API, the SkylineGlobe interface can be customised to user requirements. Users can build and style their own 3D web application.
This package bundles all the software needed to create, view, analyse, edit, and share virtual 3D environments. It includes the following key components, which can also be purchased separately.
TerraExplorer is the desktop client, the standard user interface for viewing, manipulating, analysing and publishing geospatial data in virtual 3D. Three different versions are available, each with varying degrees of functionality. The basic viewer is free of charge. The premium version is TerraExplorer Pro, a copy of which is supplied as part of the Enterprise bundle.
TerraBuilder is the tool used to build the actual virtual environment. This consists of a 3D terrain database, constructed from land cover data (aerial orthophotos, satellite imagery, texture maps) and underlying digital elevation models. Large quantities of multi-resolution data in native format can be compressed into a single stream-optimized file to minimize disk storage and network bandwidth requirements.
TerraGate is network data server technology designed to stream and share 3D geographic data in real time. TerraGate is compliant with OpenGIS implementation specifications for Web Map Service (WMS) and Web Feature Service (WFS) protocols. It works seamlessly across variable bandwidth and is not affected by latency or breaks in connectivity.
SFS (Spatial Framework Services) Manager is a Terragate management and configuration tool that allows the user to contol and monitor WMS and WFS services via the SFS server. This facilitates the fast delivery of large quantities of vector data to end-users.
Direct Connect is an Terragate add-on used with TerraBuilder. It allows on-the-fly importing and instant delivery to end-users via networks of new imagery and terrain data, large difficult-to-manage 3D databases or data undergoing constant change.
Web Package, a set of tools for building and styling custom web applications using the SkylineGlobe 3D technology.
